The Wi-Fi Hotspot Lending program at the Toronto Public Library aims to bridge the digital divide by providing users an opportunity to access the internet almost anywhere when they need it. I felt the simple and direct approach of featuring the standard Wi-Fi symbol would work best to form an instantaneous connection to the internet. In order to indicate lending, the Wi-Fi symbol appears as a large barcode, ready to be checked out! This barcode appears in the Toronto Public Library colors. The back of the booklet repeats the barcode with a binary code to allude to the internet.
